Yojana Setu

India has hundreds of government schemes, and many of them exist to help exactly the people who find them hardest to understand. The information is out there, but it's scattered across portals, written in dense language, and rarely organised around the person asking the question.

A simple, student-built project that organises scheme information so that someone can answer four basic questions: who am I, what can I get, am I eligible, and where do I apply. "Setu" means bridge. That's the idea.

• Small business owners who don't know what support exists

1. You select who you are.
2. You see the schemes relevant to you.
3. Each scheme is summarised in plain language: what it gives, who qualifies.
4. It points you to where to apply.

I've started with a small set of well-known central schemes across education, agriculture and livelihoods, and I'm reading the official guidelines for each one carefully, because getting eligibility wrong would be worse than not listing it at all.

• Turn the paper flow into a working web version.
• Add Hindi alongside English, since that's who this is really for.
• Keep information accurate and dated. Scheme rules change.
